Job Summary

The Assistant Account Executive will work closely with the Account Executives in coordinating client projects, communicating with internal teams and external vendors, assisting with business development efforts, and assisting with research and execution.

An Assistant Account Executive will be successful when he/she becomes a trusted resource to AEs and understands clients’ industries, programs, and goals. He/she will apply skills and industry knowledge to assist with program execution, research, administrative tasks – collaborating with peers at Root3 and bringing fresh thinking to the table. An Assistant Account Executive will welcome growth opportunities and new challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain Root3’s project management software (BrightPod) and utilize all internal tools and platforms to maximize efficiency – LazyTime, Slack, etc.
  • Assist with daily management of content including writing, editing, and creative asset development
  • Monitor accuracy of content entry and posting, deadlines, and assignments
  • Identify proactive opportunities for elevating content/placement
  • Execute public relations initiatives (maintain/build media lists, conduct research, media outreach & monitoring)
  • Assist account team in identifying and coordinating clients’ speaking engagements, expos and nominations/awards; work with the account team and ensure submission requirements meet deadlines
  • Assist digital specialists with campaign and newsletter distribution by coordinating with account team, gathering content, refining copy, and collecting design deliverables
  • Collaborate with the design team to generate clients’ seasonal social posts
  • Assist in the day-to-day administration of digital marketing campaigns to attract inbound leads/traffic
  • Assist account team with monthly reporting; gather data and help mine for trends and develop recommendations
  • Organize both internal and external meetings, develop agendas, take notes and send recaps
  • Assist the account team with brand guidelines

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, organizational and communication skills
  • Passion for and understanding of traditional, new media, guerilla and “word of mouth” marketing and public relations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in WordPress

Preferred Skills

  • Possesses general knowledge of sales, marketing, and advertising principles
  • Understands content standards (requirements, SEO keywords, key messaging)
  • Understands all forms of both traditional and digital marketing, including but not limited to, web strategies, social media, new media, guerilla and “word of mouth” marketing and public relations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Business Administration or related field
